The Kensington SD4849Pv is a driverless USB-C docking station built for Windows laptops that need multiple displays, fast data, and full-power charging from one cable. Kensington sells it as the SD4849Pv USB-C 10Gbps Triple Video Driverless Docking Station, model K37060NA. The host connection uses USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode at up to 10 Gbps, and the dock includes a 1-meter USB-C to USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 cable in the box. Around the chassis you get 13 total ports: two HDMI 2.0 outputs, one DisplayPort 1.4++, one VGA output, five USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, plus SD and microSD UHS-I card readers. Very Good
The SD4849Pv makes the most sense for Windows office setups that want a clean, driverless dock with strong charging and flexible monitor outputs. The 100W power delivery is a real advantage over older 60W docks, and the port layout is sensible: two fast front USB-A ports, a fast front USB-C port, card readers, Ethernet, and a mix of modern and legacy video outputs. That VGA port looks dated, but in business environments it still matters for projectors and older monitors. The biggest reason to buy this dock over a DisplayLink alternative is reliability and simplicity. No driver package means fewer support headaches, fewer compatibility surprises after OS updates, and easier hot-desking across managed Windows fleets. The biggest reason not to buy it is the display ceiling. Kensington's detailed support documentation only guarantees triple 1080p at 60Hz in a three-monitor setup, even though some reseller and marketplace pages use more aggressive triple-4K wording. If you need high-refresh dual 4K or only occasionally run a third lower-resolution display, the dock is a solid fit. If your workflow truly depends on three sharp high-resolution displays, a Thunderbolt dock or a DisplayLink-based triple-4K dock is a safer bet. Add the Windows-only positioning and some user complaints about long-term USB-C connection reliability, and the SD4849Pv lands as a capable but somewhat narrowly targeted business dock rather than an easy recommendation for everyone.
