If you have a modern Windows business laptop or workstation with the right display pipeline, it can do something the Anker cannot: build a four-monitor desk without DisplayLink. If your host is a basic USB-C laptop with a weaker display path, the spec sheet shrinks fast.
The Anker Nano Docking Station has two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort. Its YAML lists single 4K@60Hz, dual 4K@60Hz on capable Windows, USB4, or Thunderbolt hosts, and triple-display support at 1080p@60Hz in the schema. Anker is broader but still limited. The Nano Docking Station YAML lists Windows 10 and macOS 13.5. For Windows, it needs DisplayPort Alt Mode, Power Delivery, and MST for multiple independent displays. For macOS, Anker lists single extended display behavior, with additional monitors mirroring the same content. The known incompatibilities also say Linux devices are not compatible according to Anker.

But the downstream charging story is weaker. This is where Anker pushes back. The Nano Docking Station is not just a cheaper dock. It is built around a removable 6-in-1 hub. When you leave, the front hub pops out and gives you HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, SD, microSD, and USB-C passthrough charging.
