Kensington sells it as the SD4782P EQ USB-C and USB-A Dual 4K Docking Station, model K33650NA. The core idea is simple. Instead of depending on native DisplayPort Alt Mode, the dock uses DisplayLink over a 10Gbps USB connection, so even a USB-C laptop without DP Alt Mode can still drive external displays after the DisplayLink driver is installed. The display setup is flexible for a dual-monitor desk. You get two HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort++ 1.2 ports, with support for one or two external 4K monitors at 60Hz. Kensington's FAQ lists 4096x2160 at 60Hz for single or dual displays, which this site's schema stores under the standard 4K class. The rest of the port layout is practical rather than flashy: one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, five USB-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and a screw-lock host cable. Very Good
The SD4782P is a good answer to a specific problem: one desk dock for laptops that do not all have the same port. A native USB-C Alt Mode dock is cleaner when every laptop supports the right video mode, but it falls apart when someone plugs in an older USB-A machine or a USB-C laptop with no DP Alt Mode. The SD4782P avoids that by using DisplayLink. It works with USB-A, USB-C, Thunderbolt, and USB4 hosts, and it supports Windows 7 or newer, macOS 10.14 or newer, and ChromeOS 44 or newer. ChromeOS R51 and later can use DisplayLink docks without a separate driver install, while Windows and macOS users should plan on the Synaptics DisplayLink driver. The tradeoffs are the normal DisplayLink ones. It is not a gaming dock, and it is not the right pick for color-critical video work or anything where software-rendered display output becomes a liability. For office work, browser tabs, spreadsheets, admin tools, calls, and email, dual 4K@60Hz is the useful headline. The four video outputs do not mean four displays, though. They are there so you can choose HDMI or DisplayPort for up to two monitors. Compared with the older SD4700P, the SD4782P is a clear upgrade because it moves from dual 2K to dual 4K and raises host charging to 100W. Compared with driverless USB-C docks like the SD4820P or SD4880P, it is more universal but more software dependent. If you need a dependable mixed-fleet office dock with dual 4K and USB-A fallback, the SD4782P makes sense.
